CLEANSING YOUR SPACE

ENJOY THE ART
OF CLEANING NATURALLY

HELPFUL HINT - The easiest way to create a flow in cleaning and to ensure nothing is missed is to always start on your right when entering a room or space (on the left if you are left handed) and clean in a circle (always ending where you started), starting at the top on the first circle lap, middle next and work your way to the bottom on the last circle lap so nothing is missed.  It also saves time as you gain momentum.  Who wouldn't like to spend less time cleaning!

DRY DUSTING
Use your telescopic duster (or soft bristled broom for....

High dusting of ceilings  –  take the telescopic duster and go around all the edges between wall and ceiling and then dust all corners from ceiling to floor.  Dust the ceiling near light fixtures and fans

Dusting ceiling fixtures – always make sure lights are off and bulbs have cooled down before dusting. Dust chain that extends from the ceiling

Dusting ceiling fans – turn fan off and allow to stop – dust blades by the top, underside and sides (this is where the worst build up is) – dust motor as well as pole coming from ceiling Dust the tops of door and window frames

Dust behind and the floor under furniture where a vacuum will not get at (dressers, tables, beds, couches, chairs, etc). Dust on top of high furniture and cabinets.  Dust walls behind furniture (in areas where dust seems to collect – especially behind cabinets in bathrooms and bedrooms.  Dust wall lights in bathrooms (make sure lights are off and cooled) Dust top of fridge

Dust baseboards (tops and sides)

Use your paint brush for......

Dusting  in between stair railing slats

Dusting small slat blinds front and back (close blinds all the way to clean the front and then turn blinds to the opposite and dust back) – dust the top of blinds

Dusting underneath tables (kitchen, dining, coffee, end, etc) for cobwebs.  Use the duster for beds and chairs that have slats to get dust in between

Dusting plants

Dusting  oil painting and original artwork

Dusting  electronics – sides and tops of tvs, front, top and sides of stereo equipment as well as dvd players (use duster to get underneath tv and stereos as far as you can go)

F
ront Door - Inside & Out

Clean all glass inserts  at front door with Just Shine as these are focal points (one or two spritzes for each glass insert is all you really need to start with, depending on the size of the glass insert or the amount of dirt build up)

You will not be able to reach the top so just use the telescopic duster to rid the ledge and glass of dirt and dust

Wash down all trim work and rims (spritz with Just Shine and wipe away dirt and grime with damp cloth)

Use toothbrush to get in to crevices your cloth cannot get at.

Remember to have separate cloths.  1 for polishing the glass and the other for cleaning the doors

Why isn't my product working they way it should? It is frustrating when you purchase a product, bring it home and when you use it, it doesn’t work the way it promises to.   SHINE works but only when it used on a surface that does not have a silicone build-up left by conventional cleaning products. Before using SHINE on a regular basis, you must remove the silicone/wax build-up. Use a small bucket of hot, soapy water and a clean cloth. Immerse the cloth in to the bucket, wring out and starting from the top left, in a circular motion run the cloth from side to side (dip back in to the hot, soapy water when needed).  Take another clean cloth, run under cool tap water and repeat the process.  Follow with SHINE.  Polish dry with clean cloth.  Repeat entire process if necessary (depending on the amount of build-up).
TIPS FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
Use the duster and/or paint brush to remove all of the dry dust before applying anything wet.  This will cut down on cleaning time.

The toothbrush and plastic knife work wonders in getting to areas where the cloth cannot.  They also work great with easy removal of built up dirt just be very careful with the amount of pressure you apply to painted surfaces so that you do not take off the paint as well as the dirt

The spray bottle can be a powerful dirt remover when the nozzle is in the high density stream position.  Placed close to built-up corner the spray will loosen the dirt so that you may easily wipe away

The best way to attack neglected windows and frames is to just use hot soapy water instead of the Just Shine or Just Clean.  It will cut down on the use of cloths and time cleaning
Front Hallway/Foyer - Stairway

Use paint brush to dust lamp shades and intricate woodwork

Roll up floor mats to take outside and shake. Place back in position once floor is dried.  Vacuum, if they are heavy rugs and roll to wash floor

If the rugs have tassels on the ends, make sure not to run the vacuum near them as they will rip and ruin the vacuum and/or rug. When placing rugs down make sure tassels are neat.

Remember any glass, which is a focal point, should be polished with Just Shine inside and out as it makes a great first impression for guests. (Windows on either side of front door or glass pane inside of door)

Make sure to wipe along outside of stairs and boards at back (known as kick boards) and side.  This can be done one of 2 ways.  Use your Just Shine and cleaning cloth (spray onto the cloth and wipe, repeating when needed) or hot soapy water and cloth.  The first suggestion is great for lightly used areas and the second suggestion for high traffic areas.

Spray your cleaning cloth with Just Shine and wipe down hand rail, top and sides

Use your duster to dust area between rails, and spot clean rails as needed

Just Shine and a dry clean cloth to dust surfaces.  Make sure you polish dry before placing items back on to surfaces
Living & Eating Areas
Never use a damp cloth on original artwork or oil paintings

Throw blankets can be taken outside and shaken if needed or can be thrown in the dryer for a quick fluff and dust/pet hair removal

Dust wall hangings and nic nacs

Check underneath couch cushions to see if they need to be vacuumed. Fluff pillows and arrange them neatly

Vacuum couches and chairs as needed to remove pet hair, lint, etc.

your Just Shine is safe to use on your leather (spray on clean cloth and then wipe down area) metal, glass and your wood furniture.

Use vacuum cleaner with the edging attachment to get in tracks of sliding doors and wipe tracks with wet cloth

When you are not able to lift up area rugs, run the vacuum under the edges of carpet to get dust and dirt that collects underneath

Always remember to wipe the cords of all lamps, electronics, etc. as needed to get rid of dust build-up

Be gentle with computer equipment. Always us a dry cloth to dust and use paint brush to clean the keyboard

Use paintbrush to clean dials of stereo and video equipment

Wipe down remotes

When polishing the glass on artwork, make sure to spray on cloth not picture to ensure there will be no leakage to ruin art.

When chairs and tables have an intricate design like these, use your paintbrush to easily remove the dust build-up

Use paintbrush on the bottom of chair legs, as this is where a lot of dust and hair tend to collect

Use your telescopic duster (soft bristled broom) to dust the curtain rod

TIPS FOR CEILING FIXTURES & LAMPS
Regard all ceiling light fixtures as delicate breakables.  You will use your paint brush for most sections and your cloth (sprayed with Just Shine) for little.  Be gentle with your paint brush but get in to every nook and cranny.  Use your duster to dust the chain.  Your sprayed cloth to wipe all flat surfaces and metal as well as light bulbs, paying close attention to bug droppings.

Never spin the ceiling fixture to clean and never hold on to it for balance

When it comes to the crystal beads, the only way to clean without removing is to painstakingly wipe and polish each crystal with a cloth sprayed with Just Shine

Use  paint brush to remove dust from the inside fabric shade.  You will have to reach from both the top and bottom.  Spray cloth with Just Shine

Spray cloth with Just Shine and wipe cord to remove built up dust

Use paint brush to dust the outer fabric shade.  Remember to all around the shade.

Spray cloth with Just Shine and wipe full base including metal arms leading to lights.  Polish dry
Always check under bed before vacuuming as you do not want to vacuum up items placed underneath.  Especially those lost pair of socks that will stop your vacuum in its tracks and create frustration while you are trying to figure out how to remove them from the vacuum
KITCHEN
If your kitchen isn't used a lot or you clean it daily you only need to use the Just Shine but if you cook a lot or use it regularly but maybe only clean it once a week or so you will need the Just Clean and the Just Scrub along with the Just Shine
Never spray directly onto cupboards.  Spray onto your clean, damp cloth and then wipe the cupboards

Use toothbrush to get around handles if needed

Don't forget about under the  counter lip.  Food collects there and tends to go unnoticed

When cleaning exhaust hood, always make sure to clean underneath as well.  If there is a build up, you might have to start with hot soap water and use your Just Scrub to remove the grease build-up

Spray  stove top with Just Clean and let is sit for a bit to do it's thing (a few minutes is all you need but I usually spray that area first when I start to clean my home).  if there is still a build up of grease after wiping away, use your Just Scrub (I just sprinkle a little on the stove top and then move it around with my hand.  the powder will cling to anything that is stuck on.).  Let it sit for 5 minutes and when you come back, take a damp cloth and using a circular motion scrub away.  When done, spray with Just Shine to remove the leftover Just Scrub and polish dry

HELPFUL HINT - Don't be afraid to trade out those cloths.  Once a polishing cloth gets too wet, start using it for wet wiping.  When you are cleaning the kitchen or bathroom, when you feel the cloth is too dirty to use anymore, toss it into the laundry bag and grab a clean one.  I like to do my dusting first including all glass and mirrors so that those cloths can then be used for kitchen and bathroom.  They aren't dirty, just damp.
Wash down oven handle by spraying with Just Shine or Just Clean and use your toothbrush to get crumbs etc. out of crevice

Polish front of oven with Just Shine

Open bottom drawer to wipe top rim with cloth sprayed with Just Shine or Just Clean

Use toothbrush to clean around outlet and light switches on stove after spraying with Just Shine or Just Clean

Remove all items from counter to properly clean, replacing in proper location

Spray Just Shine  Just Clean and use toothbrush around sink edge to get dirt caught up between sink and counter

Sinks should be scrubbed out with Just Scrub. Rinse well and polish dry. Do not leave a stainless steel sink wet!

Wipe down the top of the fridge with cloth sprayed with Just Shine or Just Clean.  If the top is really dusty, use your vacuum with fabric brush attachment or a dry cloth first to remove as much of the loose dust you can before wiping.  This saves you time.

Clean the front and sides (where accessible).

Spray with Just Shine or Just Clean  and wipe handle on both fridge and freezer, using toothbrush if it does not come clean with just cloth

Open fridge, and wipe rubber seal with cloth sprayed with Just Shine or Just Clean, making sure to get all dirt out of accordion style seal. Wipe down edges of doors on both fridge and freezer.
Wipe down ice cube and water area if fridge has one, removing tray to wash

Use Just Shine to wipe down and polish all small appliances on counter

Wipe down the outside and lid of the garbage can.  Once you have wiped down the garbage lid, toss the cloth into your laundry bag.

TIPS FOR YOUR STOVE
The toothbrush and plastic knife work on removing build up on edges, in corners and crevices

Dwell time is what makes cleaning easier.  Spray areas that are in need of extra attention and let sit while you work on other areas.

For first cleans, the best way to attack neglected stoves is to just use hot soapy water instead of the Just Shine or Just Clean.  It will cut down on the use of cloths and time cleaning

For Flat Top Stoves - Dip cloth in to Just Scrub and starting from the left top, work in a circular motion with cloth from right to left, across and back until you reach the bottom right. You may have to re-dip cloth and concentrate on specific areas where there is build-up of food spillage.  Once entire surface feels smooth, spray with Just Shine and wipe to remove residue from scrub.  Re-spray and polish dry.

BATHROOM
Spray inside shower and/or tub, sink, and toilet with Just Shine and let sit while you work on other areas of the bathroom

Mirrors – spray with Just Shine, wipe and polish. Check mirror frame, Wall beneath and beside mirror for toothpaste    splatter

Vanity counters – remove items, spray counter with Just Clean, wipe and polish dry. Remember to clean overhand edge and back splash area. Wipe with cloth sprayed with Just Clean or Just Shine all items and replace in original spots on counter

Sink – spray with Just Clean, scrub with cloth and polish dry. Use toothbrush to get around edges. Clean and polish taps

Vanity cupboards and drawers – spray cloth with Just Clean and wipe. Do not forget handles. Clean open sides of vanity

Shower – spray sides with Just Clean, using circular motion scrub with cloth to remove soap scum, spray again wipe and polish dry.  If you notice a build-up of soap scum closer to the bottom of shower after using the cloth.  Respray and use your hand held scrub brush to loosen (circular motion) and then follow up with another spray, wipe and polish dry.  Use your Just Scrub to clean bottom of shower.  If it is a smooth pan, use a cloth.  If it is tiled use your scrub brush to get in the grout area.  Spray with Just Clean and wipe.  Polish dry

Glass shower doors – Spray glass with Just Clean and with circular motion with cloth, remove soap scum and polish with Just Shine, do not forget to clean track.

Tub – use Just Scrub and cloth to remove soap scum, spray with Just Shine to remove the residue wipe and polish dry

Wipe down and polish all extras using Just Shine – towel bars (properly folding towels), wall art, nic nacs, toilet paper holder, garbage can

Clean toilet inside and out with Just Clean (sprinkle Just Scrub into water bowl), using a toothbrush to get in to the hard to reach places to remove urine build-up.  Polish dry and then toss both cloths into the laundry bag

TIPS FOR YOUR SHOWER
Instead of placing a step ladder inside the shower, use a flat mop with a cloth sprayed with Just Shine to clean and polish the upper part of glass enclosure and the ceiling of shower as well as the unreachable sides.  These areas don’t see soap scum so there is no need for scrubbing but prolonged neglect will cause mould issues.

Use a handled deck brush to clean tiled showers in spots where it is unreachable and the grout needs cleaning….turn the nozzle on your Just Clean to stream to allow the cleaner to reach the higher areas.  Scrub and then wipe clean with the flat mop and clean cloth attached.
