Just Another Natural Nut
Have you read the label on your disinfecting product. I read the one I was testing to see what it was used for
A flu virus that only birds get; a salmonella which is from the egg not the chicken; viruses and bacteria that have only ever been found in hospital settings and 3rd world countries who deal with the nastiest of unsanitary conditions; a virus that only affects children under the age of 6 which they are already immunized for 3 times before the age of 2 and the one I love the best... protect us from HIV and Aids Now, I am not a doctor...not even a nurse but I do know there are only a few way to contract HIV....from mother to unborn child...from the use of tainted needles...blood to blood...body fluids to body fluids....not from touching a door knob or rubbing my hand against a counter top.
and if you check your government health site you will find their solution for combating all of these bacteria and viruses listed on each of the disinfecting products displayed on the grocer and janitorial shelves.....hot water with soap. Interestingly enough...Triclosan, which is a major player in the industry of disinfectants plays another role...it prolongs the shelf life of products...but if Triclosan was used for this purpose instead of being touted as a disinfecting property the product would have to be registered as a pesticide instead of registered under the food and drug regulations. We as consumers would think twice about buying a pesticide for cleaning...wouldn't we?
One on my favourite 'go to's' when I am researching is Women's Voices For the Earth and the have an extensive and compelling report on the disinfectants we are using in our homes. If you would like to learn more click here
