SAGE CLEANSING

The smoke from dried sage  changes the ionic composition of the air, and can have a direct effect on reducing the chaos (stress) we build up within ourselves

When Should I Smudge?

When you move into a new home.  Whether it is brand new or previously occupied, you are entertaining all that was past and kept within those walls.  Cleansing your home will give you a refresh for you to start your new journey.

When you begin a new job or start your own business.  Before you began your new job or your new business you probably had many stressful times leading up to the new career or venture.  You need to remove that negative cloud so you can move forward in a positive mindset

After guests leave your home or business.  You may have had a great visit or meeting but that doesn't mean they did not leave behind some negative vibes

After an argument You know the saying 'Let's clear the air!'

After an illness.  You might feel better but you need to clean the air in your home and opening up a window is not enough, the illness is still lingering.

Anytime you are feeling stressed.  Stress releases negative energy, by smudging and allowing yourself to give in to the power of the sage you reverse the energy and gain strength.

I prefer loose sage over the sage bundles.  It's this feeling I have that once lit and put out, the power of the sage is no longer as potent as it once was.  By using loose dried sage, I get fresh 'magic' every time I smudge

1. Place your loose dried white sage in your abalone shell....you only need a little.
2. Light the sage by holding a flame to it until it begins to smoke. If a true flame appears, lightly blow until it is just embers and smoke.
3. Once you have a nice smoke going, use you hand  direct the smoke over your body from your feet up to your head, then back down again. As you do this, visualize the smoke taking away with it the negative energy and chaos you feel is overwhelming you.
4.  Repeat these words as you go through the process of cleansing 'Air, fire, water, earth.  Cleanse, dismiss dispel.'
5. Once you have smudged your body, begin to move through your space.
6. Wave the smoke into all corners, across doorways and into shadow spaces.
7. Keep repeating the incantation as you go through the rooms.
If you are just concerned about clarity while in a work space, just place on shell and stand on flat surface in your work area and allow the smoke from the sage surround you.
8. When you are finished you can spread the ashes onto the ground (from the earth back to the earth,  the circle is complete)
