HOW TO INFUSE OIL

Fill a sanitized glass canning jar half full with a dried herb/herb blend and fill the rest of the way with oil (I prefer sunflower seed, hemp seed or olive) and seal
  1. Label the jar with the contents and date, place in a sunny window or outside in the sun and leave for 2 to 6 weeks.  Gently shake the jar at least once a day.
  2. Strain the oil several times through a strainer lined with cheesecloth until all the herb pieces have been removed
  3. Strain a final time through a coffee filter
  4. Re-bottle and recap, placing in a cool dark place until ready to use.

If you need to have it stronger, strain and remove the old herb/herb blend and put in a new batch of herbs and leave for another 2 to 6 weeks (add more oil if needed to ensure the herbs are covered), gently shaking the jar at least once a day.  Follow steps 3 to 5.
